2020 Annual Clinical  Assembly of Osteopathic Surgeons

2020 Annual Clinical Assembly

SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 continues to play a major role in how large conferences are held this year. Monitoring recent surges and mindful of the health of our members, your families and the communities you serve, the ACOS Board of Governors met and made the difficult but necessary decision to host the 2020 Annual Clinical Assembly in a virtual format. This year's Annual Clinical Assembly (ACA) will be held virtually, October 10-14, 2020. Additional details on the program, format, and registration will be shared in mid-August. Please feel free to contact us at meetings@facos.org with any questions

Offering educational programming across six surgical disciplines (cardiothoracic and vascular, general, neurological, plastic and reconstructive, proctological, and urological), the ACA is the trademark conference of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, attracting over 1,200 surgeons from across the country. The conference offers AOA CME credits as well as multiple opportunities for networking, reconnecting with colleagues and meeting new peers.

Poster Presentations

The Annual Clinical Assembly (ACA) attracts osteopathic residents, surgeons and program directors from across the country. It is an ideal venue to share your research and gain recognition, connections and opportunities to advance your work with the osteopathic surgical community.

Residents, fellows and medical students are encouraged to apply. For those residents whose training is evaluated by the ACOS, presentation of a poster at the ACA may be done to meet the annual report requirements for a scholarly activity. Approval from your training program director is required.

Poster abstracts will be accepted starting in April of 2020. Continue to check this page for updates!

ACA Educational Program Schedule

The ACA offers educational programming across six surgical specialties. Schedules will be posted once presentation proposals have been reviewed, selected, finalized and scheduled. There are discipline specific sessions and sessions applicable across surgical specialties. Participants earn AOA Category 1-A CME credits for sessions attended and evaluated.

Surgical Educators Seminar

Hosted by the Residency Evaluation and Standards Committee (RESC), the ACOS annually hosts a Surgical Educators Seminar.

The Surgical Educators Seminar is a CME eligible workshop developed specifically for program directors and faculty. The content of this seminar will focus on tools that assist educators in creating a successful program, while also providing a forum for educators to discuss common and emerging issues affecting their training program.

Registration can be completed online when registering for the ACA.
